Letter/List: 14; Day/Dzien: 193; KM: ca/ok. 26000; NP - Last week in Kathmandu/Ostatni tydzien w Kathmandu;

Hi.../Hejka

I haven't been writing for such a long time :P... I had no venna :P
For most of time I read books (there was no time for that in EU, but
here are a lot of nice bookstores)... I read mainly about
philosophies, sociology and my favourite: languages... In last few
days I mastered over 200 new Chinese symbols... and now I'm able to
read simple instructions and sometimes even simple sentences on the
shields in Chinese which are quite common in Kathmandu... :)...

tu maja wysmienite ksiegarnie)... Czytam glownie o filozofiach,
socjologiim no i moje ulubione: jezyki... Ostatnio nauczylem sie 200
nowych chinskich krzakow... i teraz moge juz czytac proste indtrukcje

I wanted to write it few weeks ago... but at that time Internet was
really slow for few days... and after that I lost my venna :D...
blogger didn't work here, so I couldn't publish my email... because of
that slowness I sent pictures just yesterday, I wanted to write that
letter as well, but keyboard died (!)... and now I wanna write down
about my trekking through Himalayas! :P

Chcialem juz do Was napisac kilka tygodni temu... ale Internet to
zolwil strasznie, a potem stracilem wene :P... blogger nie chcial
dzialas, wiec nie moglem pisac maili... z powodu powolnosci netu fotki
poslalem dopiero wczoraj, chcialem tez napisac maila, ale klawiatura
mi umarla (!)... a teraz w koncu opisze moj trek w Himalaje! :P

On the beginning... I came to Nepal with few aims... One of them, that
was to see Sagarmatha (Mount Everest)!... I thought, that I will take
the bus to mountain... leave the bus... walk up to mountain... sit...
get relax... take some pictures... walk around few hours... and come
back...

Na poczatku... przyjechalem do Nepalu z kilkoma celami... Jeden z nich
to bylo zobaczyc Sagarmathe (Mount Everest)!... Myslalem, ze pojadem
autobusem do Everestu... wysiade... podejde... usiade... zrelaksuje
sie... zrobie kika fotek... pokrece sie po okolicy... i wroce...

wrong thinking :D
nic bardziej mylnego :D

Here in Kathmandu I realized... that's impossible... cause... there is
no road... :P the closest road heads for Jiri... which is more than
100km in straight line from Sagarmatha!!! and from there one has to
walk through Himalaya 16 days one way, and 12 days come back!!! can
You imagine that? on the whole way, there are is no mobile
reception... so when one needs help, that's not easy to get it... and
ambulance can't come... cause there is no road... just one way to get
out of there in the case of emergency is by air... so helicopter -
1000$ per hour... :D really close to that way, there are 3 small
airstrips (for transporting goods and tourists)... polish consulate
helped much with information... And in the whole history of that way
there were just 7 people who has done that way completely alone
(without companion, porters, guides)... and there was no polish person
amid those people...
of course I decided to buy a map and try... :P

dni w jedna strone i 12 spowrotem!!! Dobre, nie...? :P Na calej
transportu zaopatrzenia i turystow)... Polski Konsulat bardzo mi
pomogl z informacjami...
towarzyszy, tragarzy, przewodnikow)... i wsrod nich nie bylo zadnego
Polaka...
oczywiscie postanowilem kupic mape i chociaz sprobowac... :P

I started on the 12th of March... here I'm gonna write just a bit
about it, cause in my diary there are 15 pages (you don't wanna read
that :P)... but i'm gonna publish it in May on my blogsite:
www.hitchhiketheworld.blogspot.com so if interested... come back there
later... :D

Ruszylem 12 Marca...

During walking each day I had to climb at least 1000m altogether and
walk down the same altitude... one day I had to climb more than 2000m
to the pass... that one was exhausting! (2000m=650 floors... so
imagine that You have to climb it... and there is no steps... just
stones... :D). On the beginning there was raining every day few hours,
what made whole the path and especially stones a bit slippy :)... one
day on 3500 meters I met a snowstorm... nice experience :)... of
course at that time there was no any restaurant, hotel etc.
anywhere!!! so I had to walk through it... of course there are no
fruits to buy anywhere, so one can't get vitamins... in some places
there is just one thing in menu - rice with vegetables (ones I
received rice with... GRASS AND LEAVES from the field!!! :DDD and
that's not a joke, I probably sent the picture yesterday)... Every
time when I was climbing up, I was swearing: why that bloody mountain
is so high??? but when I reached the top... I could watch the beatiful
view... and everyday I got a bit higher, and views were getting soooo
marvellous... pictures can't show it... You have to come... and see
it... :P

Kazdego dnia trzeba sie bylo wspiac co najmniej 1000m w gore i prawie
tyle samo zejsc na dol... Jednego dnia trzeba bylo wlezc ponad 2000m
do przeleczy... i to nie bylo takie latwe :P... (2000m=650 pieter...
3500m... ciekawe doswiadczenie... :D oczywiscie w tym czasie nie bylo
w okolicy zadnej restauracji, wiec musialem isc... (na sniegu
niewygodnie sie siedzi... zaraz sie robi mokro... :)).
mylic z europejskimi warzywami :P)... raz dostalem ryz z traa i liscmi
kazdym razem kiedy sie wspinalem, to przeklinalem cala te gore i te
Himalaje...
prostu musicie wpasc i sami zobaczyc...

One day after my "favourite" snowstorm... I started to feel worse...
Firstly: because of the storm... Secondly: I started to get altitude
sickness above 3000m (I'm the guy who was born and always lived on
island or close to the cost :D)... and I couldn't buy fruits, nor
vitamins anywhere... so I got sick... :P... I thought that my head is
gonna explode... but I knew that there are just 3-4 hours walking to
the just one place on the whole way, where one can observe Sagarmatha
until one gets it... :)... Fortunately in that place there is simple
hostel, where I could take a bed and take longer rest... During the
night I had strange dreams about war again! (like in goa, when I got
poisoned :) )... so that's probably visualization of the fighting body
with sickness in my mind... strange thing :P... of course I won that
war in the morning... and I could walk further... :P... You can see
Sagarnatha on that picture with me and high mountains as a
background... for example: Picture 277.jpg Sagarmatha that's the one
on the far left... (Sorry for low pictures quality, but I have to
resize them few times, cause they are too big to send them as they
are... :P)

:P) no i nigdzie nie mozna bylo kupic zadnych owocow!!! no wiec moj
we snie wygralem i rano bylem zdrowy... i moglem isc dalej...
wszystkie musze pomniejszac, zeby dalo sie je wyslac :P)

After another few days I reached Lukla, where airstrip is... (My
pedometer showed, that I walked 115km from Jiri)... and I decided to
fly back to Kathmandu, cause I was feeling a bit :P exhausted (I could
walk another 2-3 days, but next chance of flight shall appear in 2
weeks time, in the same place, when coming back from Everest Camp...
so :P...)... As You could see on ne picture... I was trying my best as
a pilot... :PPP now just driving of locomotive left... maybe in
india...??? they have a lot... :D I reached Katmandu back on the 21 of
April... and I'm sure that I will try trekking again!!! (next time I
will take some vitamins with me! :P)

Kilka dni pozniej dotarlem do Lukli, gdzie jest pas startowy... (Moj
(Wlasciwie to moglem polazic
(nastepnym razem biore
witminy ze soba :P)

When I reached Kathmandu, I started to go to cinema more often... They
have just Indian movies (no subtitles :P)... but I realized that I
like them... probably because at the moment I'm soaked (full of? :P)
with that culture... :P

Kiedy dotarlem do Katmandu, zaczalem chodzic czesciej do kina... maja

In 2 days time... I'm gonna do, something the craziest in my life...
Bungee jumping... I always wanted to jump on bungee... but this one is
special... that's probably the highest bungee jump point on the
world... 166m (>500 feet) above Bhote Kosi river, from the suspension
bridge... 166m=55floors - do you have anything that high in your town?
:P I wanted to do it tomorrow, but there was no space for me... so...
I'm gonna jump on Friday... Ooops... that's 13th of April and
Friday... buahahah... so... now I will be able to check how
superstistional am I??? OK... so now I will check it on me... if
Friday, 13th is lucky or unlucky!... I just wanted to remind, that My
Testament - "My Last Willing" is still actual :D...

Za dni... Zrobie cos naprawde trzepnietego... Bungee!!!... Zawsze
stop) ponad Bhote khosi river z mostu podwieszonego do gor...
166m=55pieter - macie taki wysoki budynek w swoim miescie? Chcialem to

To people who are not from EU, Americas or Australia:
Number 13 is seen in those places as a really unlucky, for example: In
UK in old districts of towns, there are no buildings number 13, in
most western restaurants there are no tables number 13 and so on. Of
course every 13th day of the month is seen to be really unlucky... and
if 13th day of the month that's Friday, it is seen REEEAAALY
UNLUCKY... few hundred years ago people in EU haven't been even
leaving their houses during that day... so... we will see... is that
true or not... :P

And there is another thing which I think, You should know...
1. As You knew before... I was trying to fight for permission to get
to China through Tibet... I lost... :D The cheapest way to go that way
that's 500$ - too much for me... I won't pay money like that just
because stupid rules... :)
2. Indian Embassy Staff wants 60$ from me for tourist visa to India
(it is for free for Polish and Slovaks)... I will never understand
their mentality... Of course I got mad there... and People from
Pakistani Embassy were really unnice for me... I got even madder :)...
I went straight to Internet Cafe and I bought ticket from New Delhi to
London on the 30th of April... So my longest journey is finishing
soon... :P Obviously now I'm not mad anymore, but I feel really happy
that I'm coming back to EU... That's the longest period of my life...
when I was completely alone... maybe I got crazy already? who knows...
:P

I jeszcze jedna rzecz, ktora mysle, ze powinniscie wiedziec...
1. Jak wiedzieliscie juz wczensiej... Prowalem walczyc z ambasada Chin
2. Personel z ambasady indyjskiej chce 60$ za wize turystyczna do
Indii )dla Polakow i Slowakow darmowa)... Nigdy nie zrozumiem ich
mentalnosci... Oczywiscie sie tam wq... zdenerwowalem... i do tego
chlopaki w ambasadzie pakistanu byli nie mili, wiec sie wkurzylem
jeszcze bardziej, poszedlem prosto do kefei i kupilem bilet z New

C'Ya soon... really soon...
Wiec nara... bardzo nara...
